The Toronto Music Garden was conceived in the late 1990s as part of a revitalization project for the city's waterfront. Inspired by Yo-Yo Ma's vision of a garden that reflects the structure of Bach's Suite No. 1 for Unaccompanied Cello, landscape designer Julie Moir Messervy brought the concept to life.
