History & Background

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science opened its doors in December 2012, named after philanthropists Margot and Ross Perot, who donated $50 million to the project. The museum was designed by architect Thom Mayne of Morphosis Architects, known for its innovative and sustainable design. It consolidated the collections of the former Dallas Museum of Natural History, The Science Place, and the Dallas Children's Museum, creating a unified space for science education and exploration in the heart of Dallas.
